European Championships in 49er Olimpic Class

3-10 July

It will be sailing mixed with... flying. Gdynia will be hosting skiffs not without reason called the Formula 1 in sailing. Two handed dinghy - the 49-er Class is known for the perfect crew cooperation and courage. While trapezing you have to almost skim the water having perfect boat handling as well. The speed is priceless. To compete against the best in Europe Polish National Team was prepered by Pawel Kacprowski who along with Paul Kuźmicki in 1998 won the silver medal in European Championships. Until now, this is the biggest success of Poles. It is true that young Polish team is conducted with a view to gaining the Olympic laurels in 2016, but who knows, maybe already the dream about the student who has surpassed his master come true in Gdynia? The greatest hopes are placed in Lukasz Przypytek and Kamil Zwolak. Last European Championships were held in August and September in Croatia, Zadar. Still former European Champions are Italian sailors - Pietro Sibello and Gianfranco Sibello, the silver won the British team with Paul Brotherton and Mark Asquith, and the bronze won Austrians - Delle Karth Nico Luca Marc and Nikolaus Leopold Resch. Who will take the Trophy in Gdynia? Soon we will know...
