Match Racing is a very popular form of sailing. In this formula matches are the most prestigious regatta in the world - the World Cup. Match Racing is a series of short and dynamic one to one races. Races are very spectacular, attract attention and are transparent, even for people who normally are not interested in sailing regatta. But it is a very demanding form of racing - from the crew requires almost perfect boat control techniques, rip, understanding and use regulations of sailing.
Races are held on a short area, usually with great interest of the audience. Area of the race two laps about 300-500 meters and the race really begins five minutes before the start. During these five minutes the crew try to win the best starting position at the same time interfering in his opponents.
